BOOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Note! If the booking is not successful in the booking system, you can book the product at the resort reception.
Equipment is booked hourly, but the actual booking time is always 10 minutes to a full hour, as the last 10 minutes of time are reserved for equipment maintenance and inspection for the next customer. The actual booking time is therefore 50 minutes / 1 h 50 minutes / 2 h 50 minutes etc. Remember to return the rented equipment to Tommolansalmi 10 minutes before the end of the rental period.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING SUP BOARDS
Do not go into water during thunderstorms, storms, or strong waves. If the weather conditions prevent the rental of the equipment, you can transfer or cancel the reservation free of charge.
When using sup boards, all participants must wear life jackets.
Pack the goods and the loaded phone in a waterproof and floating bag.
Make sure the foot strap is included with the board and always attach it to your foot during use.
Make sure the sup board fits your skills. Book a board suitable for beginners if you are just starting to practice. Also follow the weight limits for sup boards.
Adjust the length of the paddle so that the T-handle extends to the wrist.
Paddle along the beach. Avoid paddling in the vicinity of boat routes and in the vicinity of holiday cottages. Keep a minimum distance of 30 meters from the cottages.
The sup board is by law a watercraft and is subject to the normal water transport laws. Proceed to the right of the direction of travel (e.g. when using the underpass tunnel near Tommolansalmi). It is also recommended to dodge all boats.
Get off the beach and return to the beach on your knees on the sup board. Also, always be on your knees when in shallow water.
If you paddle in the twilight or dark, bring a white indicator light on the board that illuminates 360 degrees (e.g. an LED light).
If you fall, the correct way to fall is in the X position with your legs and arms wide apart to stay close to the surface. When tipping over, hold the paddle as far as possible. To get on the board, first swim on the board and place it crosswise in front of you and then lift the paddle onto the board. With one hand, grasp the opposite edge of the board, lift your feet close to the surface of the water, and pull yourself across the board. Turn yourself in the direction of the board, get up and continue your journey.
If the paddle escapes when it falls, first get back on the board and then retrieve the paddle by paddling by hand.
If you are in water or otherwise in an emergency, swing your hands above your head at the same time and blow the life jacket whistle or yell for help.
